Dr. Kirit S. Parikh, Member, Planning Commission presented a comprehensive energy scenario of the country in the Second Theme Session of the Petrotech-2007 on 17 January, 2007. Comparing the present energy consumption-demand patterns of the country vis-à-vis the global scenario, Dr. Parikh presented the upcoming energy requirement in view of a sustained GDP growth target of 8-9% in next 25 years and the possible sources of meeting that requirement.

Yemen invites ONGC to build 1 billon dollar refinery

Yemen has invited Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) to build a 100,000 barrels per day refinery on its Arabian sea coast but the Indian state-run firm has conditioned participation in the 1-billion dollar project on being allotted an oilfield in return.
 

 
Raha emphasizes on proper policy framework, pricing issue and regulation for growth in gas sector
